Team Crossroads was thrilled to welcome the “Blue Crew” to camp as part of Blue Cross’s annual Service Day, a company-wide tradition of giving back to communities across our region. This year’s theme, Show Up. Give Back. Repeat., perfectly reflects the spirit the Blue Crew brought with them as they rolled up their sleeves to make a meaningful difference for our campers.
Throughout the day, these incredible volunteers tackled projects that help keep camp a safe and welcoming space for youth all year long. Together, they:
Cleaned several cabins to get them ready for next summer’s campers
Put away boats and water equipment for the season
Readied the Stockade building for school-year weekend programs that will be starting in October
Their hard work helps Team Crossroads ready for our young people as they return to Camp Wing to build friendships, challenge themselves, and grow as leaders – both in the summer and throughout the school year.
Service Day isn’t just about one day of work; it’s about Blue Cross’s ongoing commitment to community. Alongside hands-on projects like today’s, Blue Cross employees are also participating in their Showing Up. One Letter at a Time. campaign, writing heartfelt notes of encouragement and thanks to young people, community members, and nonprofit staff.
We are deeply grateful to the Blue Crew for showing up with such energy and heart. Thank you, Blue Cross, for your partnership and for making camp ready for the seasons ahead!
