Crossroads is run by a team of people deeply committed to changing the odds for under-resourced youth in Greater Boston and Eastern Massachusetts. We believe in each of our young people, and having a lot of fun while we do what we love.

Alex Cuprinski -  Development and Communications Associate
Alex is a 2009 alumnus of Crossroads, first joining us as a camper in the summer of 2005 as part of the C5 program at Camp Lapham. He was part of the first class to graduate the New England C5 program. Alex is now part of the development and communications team, and his responsibilities include updating the donor database with gifts, pledges and donations, donor correspondence and acknowledgments, as well as day-to-day Crossroads operations. He graduated from Bridgewater State University in May 2014 with a BA in sociology. While in the C5 program he attended the Peaceable Schools Institute, and was one of the first young people to ever attend – the school typically working with adult professionals.

Allyson Gunn -  Director of Program Strategy & Innovation

Allyson returned to Crossroads in July 2014 after working with the C5 program from 2005-2009. She leads the program team to deliver innovative programming and experiences through research-based practices in youth development. She also created and leads the pilot implementation of a new scope of programming focused on supporting the postsecondary success of Crossroads leaders. Allyson has over 15 years of nonprofit management experience, most recently as National Operations Director for the Avon Walk for Breast Cancer. Allyson has a bachelor’s degree in journalism from Ithaca College and a master’s degree in education from Harvard University.

Annmarie Quinn - HR Administrator / Bookkeeper
Annmarie joined the Crossroads team in April 2012. As our HR Administrator and Bookkeeper, she makes sure that we are up to date in our human resource policies and paperwork, as well as tracking and managing organizational expenses.

Ashley Charron - Outreach Coordinator
Ashley has worked with Crossroads since 2010, joining the full-time program team in August, 2012.  She is from Manchester, New Hampshire and graduated from the University of New Hampshire with a double degree in Psychology and Sociology.  Ashley is an Outreach Coordinator, overseeing the registration and financial aid process, working with the 3rd through 5th graders in the Crossroads' Continuity Initiative year-round program, and supporting the program team.

Benjamin Palmer - Director of Operations
Ben hails from Bishops Waltham, England. He joined Crossroads  as a counselor in 2001. After completing his Business degree in England, he joined the full-time Crossroads team in 2005. Ben now oversees the Camp Wing operation including Camp Wing and the Duxbury Stockade, Camp Wing Day Camp and Crossroads Connects. He also works with the Program Coordinators to ensure our younger participants receive quality programming.

Billi Solis-O'Brien - Communications Manager
Billi joined the development and communications team here at Crossroads in June 2015. Her responsibilities include creating collateral, manning social media and supporting all development efforts. She is a 2012 graduate of Emerson College, receiving her BA in writing, literature, and publishing with a minor in journalism. Billi previously worked at Teen Voices as a mentor and marketing assistant.

Deb Samuels - President
Deb joined Crossroads in February of 2001. Deb oversees all day to day operations of the organization, and is responsible for implementing the vision of the Crossroads board and building long term support for our mission and kids.
 
 
 
 
 
Demitri Curry - Leadership Development Coordinator
After four years at C5 Georgia, Demitri joined the Crossroads team in 2015. He works with C5 Leaders to develop and practice  their leadership skills as they begin to unlock their potential. Demitri is also an integral member of the leadership team at Camp Lapham in the summer. Through his commitment to a strong program culture, he ensures connection, belonging and engagement with participants starting C5 in 8th grade. Demitri earned his BS in Criminal Justice and Sociology from the University of Pikeville in Eastern KY.

Elvira Teixeira - Social Emotional Learning Coordinator
Elvira began working with Crossroads as a summer counselor at Camp Mitton in 2011. She runs the year-round Junior Leaders program, focused on developing the social emotional competencies of our participants in grades 3-7 and nominating 7th graders for the C5 Leaders program. She is the Girls Village Director at Camp Wing in the summer, bringing her year round experience to summer programming. Elvira graduated from Bridgewater State University with a BA in global management.

Emily Merino (Semprini) - Outreach Manager
Emily joined Crossroads seasonal staff in 2005, and joined full time Fall of 2007. She oversees the recruitment for the C5 teen leadership program and oversees the 8th and 9th grades programming and will be acting as co-director of Camp Lapham this summer.

Eric Williams - Maintenance Supervisor
 
Iolando grew up in Brockton and worked for Crossroads as a summer counselor at Camp Lapham. After completing his BA in Sociology from Bridgewater State University in 2012, he worked as outreach speaker and facilitator for Free the Children in Seattle, where he supported youth to give back to their communities, both locally and globally. Iolando rejoined the full time Crossroads team in 2015 and works to support participants starting in 11th grade with individual postsecondary action planning. Iolando is passionate about helping youth access higher education, explore career ambitions and become future leaders in the community.

Jessica Dugan - Director of Program Evaluation & Impact

Jessica joined Crossroads in 2011. She leads the program team focused on year-round evaluation and impact, program partnership development, and working with the development team to engage stakeholders and connect program initiatives to fundraising opportunities. Prior to working for Crossroads, Jessica was the Director of Community & Business Partnerships at the Boston Renaissance Charter School. She is committed to enhancing educational opportunities for young people and strengthening communities through innovative collaboration. Jessica has a bachelor’s degree in music education from Ohio State University and a master’s degree in nonprofit management from Case Western Reserve University.

Jim Willis - Camp Wing Day Camp Director

Jim joined Crossroads as the day camp director in spring, 2002. Jim’s family has been a large part of Crossroads for Kids; his daughter grew up in Camp Wing Day Camp as a camper and a counselor, his son is a camper, and at one point his wife ran the day camp office and before that worked in development. When he’s not at Crossroads Jim is the department chairperson for history and the head boys’ soccer coach at Cohasset High School. Jim holds an MA in history from UMASS Boston and a BA in history from UMass Amherst.

Lisa Bower - Senior Community Action Coordinator & Camp Lapham Director
Lisa has worked with Crossroads since 2002. She develops and facilitates community action programming,  mentoring and supporting C5 Leaders to engage in their communities. She empowers participants in the final years of the program to transform their understanding of service from logging hours to affecting the change they wish to see through the ACT Now Summit, Service Trip and their individual Medallion Projects. During the summer, she is the Director of Camp Lapham. Lisa holds her BA in English and Child Psychology and MFA in Creative Writing from Hollins University.

Lydia joined Crossroads in 2005. She oversees the financial management of the organization, overseeing the financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting and cash flow functions.

Moira Cormier - College Access Coordinator
Moira joined the year round Crossroads team in 2016 after making her way through the organization as a participant, seasonal staff member and fellow. With the full Crossroads experience behind her, she brings perspective to her work as a mentor and youth development professional running college access programming for C5 Leaders. She also leads the Road to College tours in the summer and the Apprentice counselor in training program at Camp Mitton. Moira graduated from the University of Massachusetts Amherst with a BA in Sociology.

Ned joined the Crossroads team in the Fall of 2017. Hailing from Syracuse, NY, he graduated from John Carroll University (Cleveland, OH) with a B.A. in political science. Following his undergraduate tenure, Ned worked in the Office of Admission at Lycoming College (Williamsport, PA) as an Admissions Counselor. Ned currently works as the Postsecondary Success Coordinator and helps students discover the right postsecondary fit after high school graduation. 
 
 
Will Palmer - Crossroads Connects Manager
Will started at Crossroads seasonally in the summer of 2006, joining the year round team in 2009. In his 5 years he has worked closely with the full age range of campers at Camp Wing. Now he is the director of Crossroads Connects, facilitating retreats, rental groups, weddings, and events on our Camp Wing and Camp Mitton Sites.

Zoe MacLaren - Grants and Stewardship Coordinator
Zoe joined the Development and Communications team in 2014 and currently coordinates our grants program. Zoe earned her MSc from Boston University in 2007, and has a diverse background in grant writing, research and evaluation, program design and small business marketing. She is also a mother, a yoga teacher for kids and adults and a licensed facilitator of trauma-informed mind-body groups for women and girls. Zoe is honored to put her experience to work in service of the Crossroads for Kids family.
