Alex is a 2009 alumnus of Crossroads, first joining us as a camper in the summer of 2005 as part of the C5 program at Camp Lapham. He was part of the first class to graduate the New England C5 program. Alex is now part of the development and communications team, and his responsibilities include updating the donor database with gifts, pledges and donations, donor correspondence and acknowledgments, as well as day-to-day Crossroads operations. He graduated from Bridgewater State University in May 2014 with a BA in sociology. While in the C5 program he attended the Peaceable Schools Institute, and was one of the first young people to ever attend – the school typically working with adult professionals.
Allyson is thrilled to be returning to Crossroads, after an initial tenure working with the C5 program from 2005-2009. She rejoined Crossroads as part of the development team in July of 2014, and has transistioned back into program as our Director of Alumni Success where she is spearheading new efforts that marry her skills as a high caliber relationship builder with her programmatic mind. Allyson has over 15 years of nonprofit management experience, most recently as National Operations Director for the Avon Walk for Breast Cancer.
Annmarie joined the Crossroads team in April 2012. As our HR Administrator and Bookkeeper, she makes sure that we are up to date in our human resource policies and paperwork, as well as tracking and managing organizational expenses.
Ashley has worked with Crossroads since 2010, joining the full-time program team in August, 2012. She is from Manchester, New Hampshire and graduated from the University of New Hampshire with a double degree in Psychology and Sociology. Ashley is an Outreach Coordinator, overseeing the registration and financial aid process, working with the 3rd through 5th graders in the Crossroads' Continuity Initiative year-round program, and supporting the program team.
Ben hails from Bishops Waltham, England. He joined Crossroads as a counselor in 2001. After completing his Business degree in England, he joined the full-time Crossroads team in 2005. Ben now oversees the Camp Wing operation including Camp Wing and the Duxbury Stockade, Camp Wing Day Camp and Crossroads Connects. He also works with the Program Coordinators to ensure our younger participants receive quality programming.
Billi joined the development and communications team here at Crossroads in June 2015. Her responsibilities include creating collateral, manning social media and supporting all development efforts. She is a 2012 graduate of Emerson College, receiving her BA in writing, literature, and publishing with a minor in journalism. Billi previously worked at Teen Voices as a mentor and marketing assistant.
Deb joined Crossroads in February of 2001. Deb oversees all day to day operations of the organization, and is responsible for implementing the vision of the Crossroads board and building long term support for our mission and kids.
Demitri Curry - Leadership Development Coordinator
Demitri earned his BS in Criminal Justice and Sociology from the University of Pikeville in Eastern KY. He began working for C5 Georgia in 2011 as a counselor. He continued this work through 2013 working with the first three years of the program. In 2014 he returned to camp to be the Director of the first year. After four years in Georgia, Demitri moved up to New England to join the Crossroads team where he works with students from the first three years of the C5 program throughout the year. During the summer he will be the coordinator for the first year of the C5 program.
Elvira began working with Crossroads as a counselor at our Camp Mitton site in 2011. She then joined the Pathways Corps in 2012 where she worked with our kids and teens throughout the school year as a leadership coach. Elvira graduated from Bridgewater State University with a BA in global management and she joins us again in fall 2013 as a Program Fellow.
Emily joined Crossroads seasonal staff in 2005, and joined full time Fall of 2007. She oversees the recruitment for the C5 teen leadership program and oversees the 8th and 9th grades programming and will be acting as co-director of Camp Lapham this summer.
Iolando Spinola - College Access Coordinator
Iolando grew up in Brockton and previously worked for Crossroads as a counselor at Camp Lapham. After completing his BA in sociology from Bridgewater State University in 2012, he worked as outreach speaker and facilitator for Free the Children in Seattle, where he supported youth to give back to their communities, both locally and globally. Iolando rejoined Crossroads in 2015 as college access coordinator. He is passionate about helping youth access higher education, explore career ambitions and become future leaders in the community.
Jay is a New England native, born and raised in Connecticut. After graduating from Brandeis University, Jay joined City Year Boston as a Corps Member, later joining the City Year staff in Boston. He then worked in several leadership positions for the non-profit Public Allies in Washington, DC before focusing in on fundraising and philanthropy. Jay has held multiple roles in philanthropy from corporate giving at Target and Fannie Mae to various fundraising positions at community foundations and non-profits, both in Minnesota and Boston. He is a big Boston sports fan, but nothing eclipses his passion for UCONN basketball. Jay lives in Sherborn, MA with his wife and two children, dog and salt water fish. He is thrilled to join a mission-driven organization doing amazing life-changing work with young people.
Jessica joined the Crossroads staff in the fall of 2011. She supports the C5 team, focusing on year-round programming for high school students in leadership development, community action and college access. She also supports efforts around program evaluation and alumni relations. Prior to working for Crossroads, Jessica was the Director of Community & Business Partnerships at the Boston Renaissance Charter School, initiating an annual 6th grade retreat at Camp Wing and nominating teens each year for the C5 program.
Jim joined Crossroads as the day camp director in spring, 2002. Jim’s family has been a large part of Crossroads for Kids; his daughter grew up in Camp Wing Day Camp as a camper and a counselor, his son is a camper, and at one point his wife ran the day camp office and before that worked in development. When he’s not at Crossroads Jim is the department chairperson for history and the head boys’ soccer coach at Cohasset High School. Jim holds an MA in history from UMASS Boston and a BA in history from UMass Amherst.
Joanne began working with Crossroads in the summer of 1994. Joanne ensures that Crossroads offers safe, quality programs on well cared for facilities.
Lisa has worked for Crossroads since 2002. She serves as a Program Coordinator during the year, mentoring teens and developing and facilitating college access, community action, and leadership programming. During the summer, she serves as the Director of Camp Mitton. Lisa holds her BA in English and Child Psychology and MFA in Creative Writing from Hollins University.
Lydia joined Crossroads in 2005. She oversees the financial management of the organization, overseeing the financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting and cash flow functions.
Will started at Crossroads seasonally in the summer of 2006, joining the year round team in 2009. In his 5 years he has worked closely with the full age range of campers at Camp Wing. Now he is the director of Crossroads Connects, facilitating retreats, rental groups, weddings, and events on our Camp Wing and Camp Mitton Sites.
Zoe joined the Development and Communications team in 2014 and currently coordinates our grants program. Zoe earned her MSc from Boston University in 2007, and has a diverse background in grant writing, research and evaluation, program design and small business marketing. She is also a mother, a yoga teacher for kids and adults and a licensed facilitator of trauma-informed mind-body groups for women and girls. Zoe is honored to put her experience to work in service of the Crossroads for Kids family.
